The village of Les Contamines has a good selection of bars, restaurants, creperies and rental shops. There are 2 supermarkets, butchers, 2 bakeries, ATM machine, post office and bank. There is a market every week and in the summer there are many concerts, competitions and events organised, details of these can be found in the tourist office. Due to its great location, there are many day trips that can be taken, to Italy and Switzerland and for those less adventurous to nearby town such as Chamonix, Megeve and Annecy.

Les Contamines-Monjoie is a tradional, unspoilt winter and summer village in the heart of Mont Blanc Massif. With its north facing slopes it is known for its excellent snow, which can last up to the end of April. There are plenty of ski runs for all levels and remains uncrowded throughout the ski season. Due to its great location Chamonix, Megeve or even Courmayeur in Italy are all around 30 minutes drive away. The town of St Gervais is renowned for Thermal spa, with its wide range of treatments, some even specially tailored for skiers.

Les Contamines is less than one hours drive from Geneva airport which is serviced by many budget airlines. For those who enjoy driving it is approximately 8 hours from Calais. The village is perfectly located, just 15 minutes from the A40 motorway and is well sign posted.
